Island Café has been created by a group of talented musicians. The turntablism skills of DJ Reemster and the fascinating voice of Mary Anne add a special flavour to the irresistible beats. Fans write: "your music is sexy and seductive, hot and unique."

Record deal
After a successful debut at The Affaire Festival in Juli 2008 the band launched a 'blitzkrieg career' (Quote 3voor12) in the regional scene. Wax 'n' Wane reached the Top 5 of popular newcomers of Dutch magazine LiveXS. The band won a tour around prestigious Dutch venues like Paradiso Amsterdam, 't Paard and Luxor. Record companies were showing interest. April 2010 the band signed a distribution and publishing deal with DistributionLabel.com.

Experienced
Vocalist Mary Anne and guitar player Joz were a part of 9 Days' Wonder from 1999 'till 2004. This band played with celebrities like Lamb in Paradiso, Amsterdam, and Kosheen in venue 013, Tilburg. Drummer Peat drummed in well-known Dutch rockbands. He saw 9 Days' Wonder? performing as support act of Kosheen and contacted the former members later. They felt the vibe immediately. Wax 'n' Wane was born. Six months later DJ Reemster joined the band.
